About the event

Special screening of Love Letter to the Unseen at Brunswick Heads Picture House

Save Wallum is inviting the community to a special fundraiser film night at Brunswick Heads Picture House on Saturday 23 May 2026, bringing together powerful storytelling and urgent conservation action.

The evening will feature a screening of the acclaimed documentary Love Letter to the Unseen, which follows teenager conservationist Spencer Hitchen as he journeys into the remote waterways of Tasmania to understand the plight of the endangered Maugean Skate, a species few people will ever see, but whose survival hangs in the balance.

The event comes as Save Wallum continues its fight to protect the Wallum ecosystem at Brunswick Heads from a housing development proposed for the ecologically sensitive coastal habitat.

Following the screening, audiences will hear directly from Spencer Hitchen in a live panel discussion with local conservation voices about the growing movement to defend fragile ecosystems…
